My client, a global leader in the energy sector, are looking to hire a Systems Accountant to join their brand new head offices near Chester.

Reporting to the Finance Director, and working closely with the Head of Technology, the Systems Accountant will come in and bridge the gap between finance and systems. This brand new role will be involved in several different finance transformation projects, and will look to continually drive optimisation and efficiency across the finance function. Previous experience with ERP implementation, and Oracle in particular, is highly desirable.

This is a brand new position, perfect for anyone with a passion for systems and technology, who wants to combine this with a solid accounting background.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing systems performance and identifying system issues
• Co-ordinating system upgrades in Finance in conjunction with the IT department
• Designing and implementing internal system controls to provide quality assurance over financial data
• Reviewing and maintaining all financial systems policies and procedures
• Collaborating with IT and financial staff to meet business requirements
• Troubleshooting and fixing finance-related system issues
• Training and supporting finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures
• Working with the IT team to design delivery schedules for systems development
• Working with ERP, PowerBI and other business intelligence software
• Support development and optimisation of financial planning, analytics and reporting models in conjunction with broader Finance teams
• Support finance team members in the automation of data transformation and manual processes.
• Drive benefits through ERP optimisation, data lakes and data cleansing
• Collaborating with other team members to maintain a high performing finance function.
• Co-ordination of Finance systems / process readiness with regards to strategic growth projects

Key responsibilities include:

• Qualified accountant (others considered)
• Previous experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle or SAP
• Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Hyperion
• Strong Excel skills, with the financial modelling ability
• Experience working in both project and BAU environments
• Excellent communication skills, able to simplify and explain complex financial/systems information
• Proactive, confident, with strong sense of initiative
