Working closely with the Consolidations Manager, it's a challenging yet rewarding opportunity with the chance to be a key member of the finance set up. Prior technical accounting experience with a good knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards is important.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Consolidation and reporting: Assist in the consolidation process of financial statements for the group of companies. • Manage IFRS 16 Database • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to accounting and financial reporting. • Stay informed and monitor changes in IFRS & Regulations and draft technical memoranda to present a strategy • Analyse, translate new standards and manage the implementation in the financial statements in coordination with auditors, including in its systems dimensions • Training and Guidance: Provide technical accounting training to finance team members, ensuring they understand and apply accounting standards correctly. Act as a resource for accounting-related questions and provide guidance on complex transactions and accounting treatments. • Accounting Policy Development: Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards. Ensure compliance with private equity reporting requirements and stay updated on changes in accounting regulations. • Update bluebook (Group Accounting Manual) and cascade to the relevant groups • Audit Support: Assist auditors in the review and validation of the financial consolidation process and related controls.
Skills required:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and attention to detail. • 10+ years of accounting and group reporting experience including oversight of technical accounting, accounting operations, tax, and treasury. • Early career work – Big 4 public accounting a must, ideally with at least 3-4 years prior to moving into industry. • English as first language • Qualified Chartered Accountant with strong IFRS experience.
