Robert Walters are thrilled to announce that we are currently assisting a global manufacturing and distribution company in their search for a Assistant Financial Controller. This billion-pound turnover business, whose Northern office in the UK is based in Manchester, are regarded as leaders within their markets, boasting significant profits year on year. Ultimately, they are now looking for a Assistant Financial Controller to join their incredibly successful finance team.

The Role:

In reporting directly to Reporting Manager you will support both them and the Group Financial Controller in developing and implementing financial policy and the financial controls framework. You will also build and maintain a robust internal control framework including delivery of the internal and external audits. Your duties will include:

• Working closely with the Risk and Reporting Manager to produce monthly and annual management accounts information for a number of Head Office companies.
• The review and critical appraisal of monthly cash forecast and outlook for these companies, working closely with Group Treasury.
• Working closely with the Finance Systems Manager to ensure that reporting environments are optimally set up to support data capture requirements.
• Supporting the delivery and completion of the annual budget and 5-year plan processes for the Head Office companies in their remit.
• Support the Risk and Reporting Manager and the Group Financial Controller in managing the external audit relationship and delivering the UK and Group statutory accounts.
• Support the Risk and Reporting Manager in delivering the internal audit program.
• Liaise with the site financial controllers to collate and assess the relevant information for the Group’s insurer and reinsurance.

The Candidate:

You will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), ideally having qualified from practice but all applications are welcome.
• Be a strong communicator and able to interact with personnel from across the business.
• Be able to work to tight deadlines.
• Possess strong IT and technical skills.
