LEGAL COUNSEL (located in the Netherlands)
You will be a part of the Legal Affairs department for the Europe region (12 lawyers), which is responsible for the legal support to all of the activities in Europe.
Position
The position offers you a broad variety of challenges within a rapidly expanding company in an international environment, a constructive, friendly atmosphere amongst colleagues and excellent opportunities for growth.
You main tasks & responsibilities will be:
- Drafting, negotiating and implementing various international commercial contracts (such as sales, procurement, distributor and agency agreements) with counterparties in various jurisdictions;
- Actively advising business management in the decision making process;
- Responsibility for a broad variety of international oriented commercial legal work;
- Supporting projects of the business units (which may include international commercial transactions as well as M&A and joint-venture projects of different complexity);
- Contributing to and drive inter-company projects in liaison with colleagues in other regions, particularly in the Middle East and the US such as inter-company agreements, and corporate risk and compliance matters;
- Handling legal proceedings and supervise the related activities of outside counsels;
- Providing all-round legal support to the business.
Profile
- Qualified lawyer in an European country;
- Experienced in commercial law and projects, but also able to identify critical issues in fields such as competition law, corporate law, export controls, international trade and compliance in general;
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (in-house or in private practice);
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of one or more other languages is a plus;
- Internationally minded, strong personality with a keen business sense and a hands-on pro-active attitude.
