How long on average do you spend preparing for a job interview?
The marketing jobs market is showing signs of improvement in most areas, with the B2B and consumer sectors performing particularly strongly.
After finalising internal restructures, B2B-focused businesses are beginning to implement new marketing strategies at the moment and are looking to recruit individuals who can add value immediately. If you are therefore a digital marketer with SEO and PPC experience or a product marketing specialist, you will be in demand at the moment. Across the professional services sector, business development-focused marketers with commercial knowledge are also being hired.
Marketing jobs within the consumer sectors are currently on the rise. Demand for marketers with new product development experience and knowledge of marketing luxury products is strong as firms looked to take advantage of growth opportunities. But – as with the B2B marketing jobs market – digital marketers are most sought-after at the moment. For these jobs, you will be especially in demand if you have social media experience alongside content generation, CRM, SEO and PPC skills.
There has been a slight fall in permanent marketing jobs within financial services firms but there are still plenty of good opportunities available – particularly on the buy side. Encouragingly, contract job levels have also risen. Multi-skilled marketers – in other words, individuals with experience across digital, campaign, offline and events – are especially in demand at the moment.
