A leading investment bank is looking to hire an individual into its Global Market Valuation Group (GMVG), a centralised function within finance responsible for Valuation Control of positions subject to Fair Valuation on behalf of the Corporate and Investment Bank. GMVG consists of Independent Price Testing, Valuation Models and Methodology, Analytics (results and risk reporting) and continuous improvement and innovation.
The role of the GMVG analytics function is to act as an intermediary between Valuation Control and senior finance management in providing transparency of the fair valuation results and valuation uncertainty issues impacting those results. It is the responsibility of this function to fully understand the drivers and root causes at a more detailed and technical level, and be able to appropriately communicate these results and issues to senior finance management as well as the business to enable effective and informed decision making.
Candidate Requirements:
Knowledge of valuations control or product control
Analysis skills
Strong understanding of financial products
Knowledge of fair value accounting policies
Qualified accountant with a finance or accountancy related degree
A strategic thinker and have business and cultural awareness
Able to build strong relationships
