Our client, the Federation of European Accountants (FEE), is the representative organisation for the accountancy profession in Europe. FEE member bodies are present in all 27 member states of the European Union and represent more than 500,000 accountants in Europe. FEE engages in constructive dialogues with the professional, policy-making and regulatory communities in a growing number of areas, reflecting the expansion of the accountancy profession. FEE has a staff of 14 with 8 different nationalities.
FEE is currently looking to recruit 2 Project Managers: one for the Accounting/Financial Reporting team; a second for the Professional Services team. The Project Manager is to develop the Federation's activities and will work in its different fields of activities. To this end, he/she will manage and support expert groups and task forces working in specialised fields of expertise or on specific projects. The Project Manager will interact with the Chairs of these groups who are leading European experts from the profession. The Project Manager is expected to take ownership of his/her projects and gradually work autonomously. Reporting to the Senior Manager and to the General Secretary, the main responsibilities for both roles will include:
- Advancing and supporting the work of FEE working groups;
- Researching and analysing relevant developments in regulation, professional practice and markets;
- Monitoring relevant policy and regulatory issues, actively keeping abreast of developments, providing in-depth technical analysis and imparting pertinent information to colleagues and FEE Member Bodies;
- Writing of reports and other papers such as comment letters, position papers, surveys...;
- Organising conferences and round tables.
The successful candidate has a Bachelor or Master in Finance, Accounting or Economics, combined with an experience of 5 to 10 years in an accounting firm. An audit qualification is a very strong plus. An excellent generalist knowledge in the different fields of expertise of the profession (for example: accounting, taxation, auditing and assurance services) is necessary. An interest in the other areas of work of the Federation and in EU affairs is required as well. A successful experience of hands-on project management in a multicultural-multinational context is a strong plus. An excellent knowledge of English is required (including very good written skills). Knowledge of one of the main European languages is an asset.
Specific required experience:
- For the Project Manager Accounting/Financial Reporting: experience should ideally be acquired within a Big4 and should include exposure to international clients and to IFRS. Experience within a technical desk is a strong asset.
- For the Project Manager Professional Services: experience should ideally be acquired within a mid-size accounting firm, with exposure to SME's clients.
The ideal candidate is well organised, flexible, proactive and autonomous. He/she has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, he/she proves to be an innovative and dynamic problem solver. He/she displays a hands-on, empathetic and entrepreneurial attitude as well as a positive and multicultural mindset.
In return, our client offers a challenging position with an attractive salary package in an international organisation.
