Our client, an IFSC banking and funds operation now wishes to recruit a Head of Legal for their Irish operation.
The successful candidate will have a minimum 10 years' PQE in a well respected legal practice and/or an investment bank. Managing a team of 2 Lawyers and 2 administrative staff, the Head of Legal will be responsible for providing legal advice and drafting and arranging the execution of all legal documentation for the company's fund administration, fund custody, banking and treasury operations, including structured products and covering Ireland. Strong academic record, excellent organisational, interpersonal and drafting skills are required.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing and managing the Legal Department in Dublin, involved in the implementation of the organisation's legal strategy, policies and procedures
Providing legal advice to business units and operational departments on Banking, Custody and Administration Affairs
All corporate legal affairs of the company
Drafting and negotiating loan and security documentation, ISDA Master Agreements and ancillary documents and obtaining legal opinions in respect of multi-jurisdictional transactions
Reviewing fund offering documentation and constitutive documents; drafting Administration Agreements, Custody Agreements and Deeds of Trust and providing legal advice to the Directors and Management of business entities in Ireland
Allocating workload across legal staff and ensuring timely and accurate execution of all Credit and Security documentation, ISDA Master Agreements, Administration Agreements, Custody Agreements, Deeds of Trust and other documents and ensuring that all documentation is filed and up to date and ensuring perfection of security
Advising re. development of new financial services products and providing legal advice in relation to Global Risk, Credit and Compliance issues.
Responsible for motivating and managing the Legal Team
Background:
- 10 years' post qualification experience in a banking/investment funds environment
- Excellent management, organisational and communication skills
- Strategic vision and good, independent judgement and ability to think creatively
- The skills to analyze proposals, examine their legal & commercial consequences
- Ability to work effectively as a team member of a dynamic global banking organisation that is expanding rapidly.
- Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort.
