This is an excellent opportunity within a global Insurance firm for an Assistant Controller to work closely with the Controller to maintain the effective and efficient running of the Finance team.
Main roles and responsibilities:
- To assist the Controller with the management of the outsourced accounting services
- To assist with the creation of timely and accurate management information provided to the boards and management teams
- To assist the Controller in ensuring that the Businesses meet their group reporting, statutory, regulatory and fiscal deadlines
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance of appropriate controls and procedures are operational and effective in ensuring the accuracy of the Companies’ financial records
- Assist the Controller with implementation of new GL and transfer of accounting services in-house
- To assist with the creation of timely and accurate management information provided to the Board and management teams
- Create successful, productive and professional relationships with third party providers and ensures that the service being delivered is in accordance with any service level agreements
- Providing ad hoc assistance to the team when performing annual or monthly reporting tasks
- Awareness of any regulatory requirements within agencies function
- Develop industry knowledge by attending relevant courses and working with non-Finance staff
- Liaise with the Board and other key stakeholders to understand the type of support and reports that are required to manage the business
Key skills and experiences required:
- Degree qualified
- Qualified accountant
- Significant post qualification experience
- Lloyds Insurance experience
- Senior management team / Board level experience
- Good understanding of insurance industry
