My client, a Specialist Insurance firm, requires a Global Financial Reporting Manager, who will report to the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for controlling and managing the global financial reporting process (including statutory reporting and regulatory reporting) of a group of legal entities
  • Taking ownership for the interpretation and application of accounting policies and rules
  • Monitoring of core controls across Financial Control to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information
  • Accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management
  • Accurate and timely regulatory reporting to relevant authorities namely Lloyd’s and FSA
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with authorities
  • Compliance with Group accounting policies and relevant accounting standards, guidelines & procedures
  • Ownership and delivery of the Financial reporting timetable
  • Ensure Financial reporting standards are implemented globally
  • Timely production and review of statutory accounts for all UK entities
  • Tax reporting, both to UK, US and Irish tax authorities
  • Lead projects that related to financial reporting
  • Reporting on developments in the regulatory environment and impact assessment on the business activities
  • Develop policy and standards with reference to the relevant regulations
    Drive the identification and implementation of key initiatives that relate to system enhancement and process automation projects within the regulatory reporting function
Key skills and experiences required:
  • University degree in any discipline
  • Professional accountancy qualification (or overseas equivalent), preference for ACA
  • General commercial and financial knowledge
  • Insurance knowledge required
  • Proven experience managing and build a successful team
  • Proven post qualification experience, ideally gained within the Insurance sector
