Human resources recruitment rises in quarter two

UK, 23-Jul-2010

- HR generalists in high demand
- Rise in learning and development recruitment points to improving market conditions

Businesses were recruiting more HR staff in all disciplines at all levels in quarter two, according to the latest market update from recruitment specialist Robert Walters.

HR generalists were most in demand as employers sought professionals who could perform a variety of duties to help rebuild and/or expand HR functions. Learning and development, recruitment, change management and compensation and benefits specialists were also highly sought-after.

Martyn Wright, Director of Robert Walters’ Human Resources recruitment division, comments:

“The increased demand for compensation and benefits, and learning and development professionals indicates that businesses are now focusing on retaining key talent more than they were a few months ago and also points to improving market conditions. The summer holiday season may result in a slight slowing of recruitment activity in the short term. However, we expect the pace and volume of vacancies to continue to rise during the rest of the year.”
