Our commitment to the environment
Robert Walters is committed to positively managing its impact on the environment.
Although we do not operate in an industry sector that causes significant pollution, we have implemented a number of initiatives to ensure everything possible is done to minimise environmental impact.
Robert Walters has earned ISO14001 accreditation
Robert Walters London Office has been awarded ISO14001 accreditation. ISO14001 is an internationally recognised standard that addresses the critical balance between maintaining profitability and reducing an organisation's environmental impact. It is our intention that this best practice will be deployed across our global network of offices.
Carbon offsetting
Robert Walters continues to actively reduce its carbon footprint through a policy of minimising travel unless it is totally necessary, as well as offsetting travel-related carbon emissions through an accredited reforestation scheme covering the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Energy conservation
Robert Walters continues to migrate its office light bulbs to low energy equivalents across the office network, and following a successful pilot project over 25% of the Group's computer terminals are low energy. In addition where office leases permit, light activating motion detectors continue to be deployed.
Recycling
The majority of core stationery items in use across Robert Walters are sourced from recyclable or sustainable managed sources and policies and procedures for the shredding and recycling of waste are in place across the majority of our offices across the globe.
Suppliers
Robert Walters evaluates the environmental credentials of all suppliers and ensures that they are aware of its Environmental Code of Practice.
Electricity
Where possible Robert Walters offices adopt a policy of obtaining electricity from renewable sources or from suppliers that have adopted green energy purchase procedures.
